Road Closures and Parking

Road closures

To ensure the event is a safe and fun place for competitors, volunteers and the public, there will be some road closures for the Fun Run and Walk.

The 10km event commences at 8am at the Superpit Lookout and the 4km event commences at 8.45am at GMF Health, 130 Egan Street. The course then heads north along the Goldfields Highway, left into Hannan Street to Mile Street where it turns left towards the racecourse. From Mile Street entrants will turn right into Meldrum Avenue, left into Speculation Road and then right into O’Connor Street. At Osmetti Drive entrants will turn left and then head behind the Oasis playing fields to the finish area.

We will be closing the westbound lane of Hannan Street. Pedestrian and Vehicular crossing points on Hannan Street will be positioned at the intersections of Boulder Road, Maritana Road and Lionel Street. This closure of the course will be in place for approximately one and a half hours only.

On the later stages of the course (once the participants leave Hannan Street) one lane of all of the above-mentioned roads will be closed until approximately 10:30am.

Changes to Goldfields Highway

From 7:45am to approximately 8:45am the northbound lane of the Goldfields Highway will be closed between the entrance to the Superpit Lookout and Hannan Street. During this time a contra flow lane will be in operation in the southbound lane. Traffic controllers and an escort vehicle will manage vehicles in each direction. We expect minor delays of approximately five minutes during this time.

Parking

10km start line
Parking will be available at the KCGM Superpit Lookout.

4km start line
On the Boulder side of town, parking is available on Egan Street, in the Target car park and in the public car park behind the Commonwealth bank. On the other side of Hannan Street, parking is available on Brookman Street.

Finish line
Parking is available at the Rugby Clubrooms at the Goldfields Oasis.
